Class of 1967 Reunion

Hi Everyone,

I truly hate it that we did not have a 40th Class Reunion. I live in Port Orange, FL now and it is very difficult to plan a reunion from here. As most of us know, we will be turning the ripe old age of SIXTY this year.....(do not fret, it is only a stepping stone)! Anyway, I thought it would be nice to get together for a 60th Birthday Cruise! I got with a travel agent friend in Daytona Beach and got the following group rates on Carnival's Imagination Fun Ship out of the Port of Miami. I figured the Port of Miami would be convenient for those traveling from Key West, those flying in to sail, and those of us driving in from other parts of the southeast. We need at least 5 cabins to get the group rate. I booked the event and we have till March 12th to get the deposits in to reserve the cabins. The deposit is $25.00 per person with 2 people per cabin or $50.00 per cabin. Once 5 or more cabins are booked, we will get a $50.00 per cabin credit for on-board spending and the cruise line will hold a cocktail party for an hour in our honor one evening. The rates are:

$231.81 per person for an inside cabin

$261.81 per person for an outside cabin

$571.81 per person for an ocean balcony cabin

The $25.00 deposit guarantees a room but the cruise line does not actually assign a cabin number until they have $100.00 pp.

Payment schedule pp: $25.00 by 3-12-09

$75.00 by 6-21-09

Final Balance due 8-20-09

This includes all taxes and port charges. If the price per barrel of oil goes over $70.00, the cruise line reserves the right to add a surcharge of $9.00 per person per day.

Dates: Sail 4 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 to Nassau

In Nassau from Sat. 10 a.m. to Sun. 7 a.m.

Sunday - Fun day at sea! Party!!!!

Return Monday, October 26, 2009

I will have a cruise line flyer on the above within the week and they are also ordering brochures about the ship. Lets get the word out! Invite anyone who wants to celebrate with us! Sixty is a BIG number - Let's have a BIG attendance! Let me know if you are interested as soon as possible! Thanks Dalia

Released on 1st June, 1967, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the band's eighth album became the soundtrack to the "summer of love" but its appeal is timeless and it's "Will You Still Need Me, Will You Still Feed Me" the theme of our collective 64th birthday celebration the first weekend in October 3-5. Cost: $100 per person. Hope you can make it. Contact us at: *****@gmail.com or find us on Facebook: https://http://www.*****/****

Official plans thus far... Please let me know if the fee is a problem for you. There are many opportunities for us to offer help. Someone tonight gave the idea of carwashes, etc. as fundraisers to help defray the cost. This would be better than someone sitting out for the event. There are those who can and are willing to help. Open your mouth. You can call me discreetly. No one needs to know.
Included in our $75.00 per person registration fee are:
6pm Meet and Greet, Grand Key Doubletree Resort Lobby and restaurant area - This is where you will get your official 25 yr reunion guidebook and schedules and such. This is also where you will sign in an sign up for all that we will have to offer.
After the meet and greet the plan is to get ready to go out for the night.
Rick's on Duval will host us via all weekend wristbands which will allow us access throughout our weekend. This will get us all in on Friday and Saturday. Some free drinks will be involved but we are not sure how many and which night(s).
Saturday there will be a Trolley tour of Key West and then tours of the newly renovated high school. We need input on where to go and what to see.
Saturday night cocktails and hors d'oeuvres 6pm at the Doubletree Ballroom and dinner to follow at 7pm. Dancing and the DJ will be available throughout until 12am. Whoever would like to continue their evening can meet at Rick's where our wristbands will give us access to the complex.
Sunday, those who are so inclined will join others for mass at their own churches. As it gets closer we will indicate what time to meet at what church so that you can have a class of 88 section in which to sit. At 1 pm we want to meet for a last hoorah lunch for the event. We would like to have cuban mixes and the typical Key West lunch accompaniments. Sorry, my thesaurus is on the fritz. Could not come up with a smaller word.
After lunch - maybe earlier, many will be leaving. Goodbyes will be said and the rest who are staying may want to take in a regular trolley or conch train tour or check out some of the available boat trips, etc. that town now offers. I will have a list and put up links in the coming weeks.
Book soon as town and reservations are going quickly. As of this evening, the Doubletree only had 10 reservations left. For those who miss out on the Doubletree, contact me at (305) 797-XXXX via ph or text and I will hook you up with somewhere else in town. Communicate with me and I will do all I can.
